Mr. Kimball's Science

Exploration Progress of Space and Space Faring Technology
(This Week in Astronomy)

and

Progress of Physical Sciences

(This Week in Physics)

BACKGROUND:
Both Physics and Astronomy have evolved in tandem to lead technology and other industries through the ages. The first enlightenments of science were physics to help explain astronomy, which ultimately came from trying to understand our world. These ancient disciplines have come a long way, not because of lone-wolf pioneers, but rather through a constant building and spring-boarding of ideas.

ASSIGNMENT:
Research a current event that is relevant to your specific class, if you are taking both classes, you'll need to do one for each. The article must be from a reputable source and be published within the week of your assigned presentation date. You will need to craft an email to me, following the template found below. Be sure to provide all the information found in the template, as I'll be compiling a digital timeline.

GRADING:
5pts - Current article, within 10 day window of your assigned date and relevant to specific class topics; check with me if not sure.
5pts - Email me following the template provided, at least the night prior.
5pts - Sharing bullets in oral presentation in front of class.
5pts - Presented on time. Allowances can be made for excused absences.

TIMELINE:
You are also expected to create a time line of all the presentations given in your class, if you are absent you will be required to get the bullets from the time. This will be optional to turn in at the end of the quarter for those of you that are participating during the presentations. 2% extra credit at the end of each quarter for quality Timelines, turned in by the drop dead date.
